Notes

Peer Critique Art 2: Kayleeana Rodriguez:  Kayleeanas painting is Geometric Shapes, I see different colors; such as different shades of red and purple. In her artwork, the shapes visible are triangles, possibly diamonds, and squares. Kayleeana is using lines in her artwork to bring the geometric shapes together. I would say as a viewer what moves my eye around the place is definitely color, you see all the different shades of color and it really makes you want to look and see everything.  What I see happening in this artwork is the colors on opposite ends, then coming together in the middle. The most important part of this piece to me is the colors, they are on opposite ends for a reason, and if they were placed differently, the artwork would alone, be different as well. What I like most about this piece is the color, the artist did well on the different shades of color altogether. What I dislike about this piece is the lines, I would change the lines and make them more defined and straight. Overall, this piece is enjoyable.

Peer critique Art 2: Ali: In Ali's painting I see a ball of yarn, yarn being pulled by a needle for crochet, scissors, and a sewing needle. She has a very vibrant orange creamsicle going in her painting. Lines are being used in her word "Imagine", her needle tool, scissors, sewing needle, and ball of yarn. The textures are effective by having the ball of different shades of blue to represent a real ball of yarn. The most important part of the piece for me is the word "Imagine", it brings the whole piece together for me. Because it represents that you're using yarn to crochet anything you can imagine, it's all up to you. What the artist did best is the background color, I love the color and Ali made it look beautiful with the different shades.

Portfolio/inquiry: I notice the items they used, represented something, it had meaning to it. I think repairing something can make items more beautiful. Most of the items look like no one would give them a second look, until you shape it, mend it, and it becomes something unrecognizable. I wonder what items they've created next to represent their emotions.

Portfolio/Inquiry 2
The progress I have made is almost completing the base of the headphones. A change I made is.. Instead of going from top to bottom, I decided to go from bottom to top. So, I started on the actual headphone pieces, then worked my way  to connecting everything to the top of the headphones.

Portfolio/Inquiry 3
04/09/25

The progress I have made is completing the base of the headphones. A change I made is I engraved music symbols into the headphones. I asked in the circle "what color should I make the headphones?" The color I was thinking of is a dark color. People said a dark blue or a dark purple, so that's the feedback I received.

Final Journal 5/16
My headphones related to my inquiry by representing music as a way to escape. And my mouth ceramic represents feelings of anxiety and not being able to speak out. A discovery I made along the way is bending the clay in my headphone ceramic is a tricky thing to do, the piece wants to fall apart. I understand my inquiry more by seeing how my feelings can be used to show in my ceramics. And it can also bring a community together to relate as well.
