Optical Illusion

Artist Statement: My artwork is an optical illusion, some art elements in my artwork is color, line, shape, and two dimensional. My art is made from acrylic paints; the tools I used were my paintbrushes. What inspired me was wanting to create a vibrant optical illusion. What my goals were for this artwork was to stay in the lines, and so add the colors, some darker than others, some lighter than others. I feel like the piece is what I imagined, it's a piece I didn't ever think on doing, so my art inspires me to keep trying new things.

Artist Statement: My artwork is paper marbling, what my artwork reminds me of is Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh, mostly the sky. In my artwork, an element I use is shape to form the fire ends on the bottom. My art is made from a kit made for paper marbling, some tools I used were a water marbling stick as well as a hair comb. The emotions I tried to show in my artwork is a calming soothing expression at the top, with a fire like coming from the bottom to the calming place, how sometimes things that are chaotic can come into your life, do you let them mix and create disaster ? Or do you fix the problems? My goal for this project was to make an artwork that made sense, to understand the purpose of having an idea, because sometimes I just like to see how things go without planning. So, this artwork helped me realize that sometimes it's good to go without a plan, but also there's times it's best to have a plan.

Artist Statement: My artwork looks like a universe, The elements most obvious in my artwork is line, shape, color, and value. The media my artwork is made from is I used Fumage for the background, I used sharpie for the stars, black hole, etc. Lastly, Prisma Colored Pencils. What inspired my artwork? I would say the universe itself, I wanted to bring things that are from our universe, that we cannot see on a daily onto my artwork. My goals as an artist is mostly to try new things, I'm very new to art, and not ever really got to express myself, so just doing whatever I want sometimes is a really good goal for me. I think this piece helped me reach a part of that goal.

Artist Statement: My artwork looks like a tree, an element most obvious in my piece is color. The media my artwork is made from is ink, and watercolor. This was my first time using ink blowing technique, I just wanted to be able to get the ink somewhere, anywhere, that would represent something. The more I looked at it, the more I thought, "I could really make this into a tree," This piece helped my goals as an artist by showing how I learned to look in between lines, as well as the big picture, I didn't just look at it and say, "That's just lines going everywhere," I saw something and made it into that, which for me really shows how much I've grown, I'm proud of this piece.

Artist Statement: My subject matter for this painting is Dreams vs Nightmares. The elements obvious in my painting are space, color, and line. I created my artwork from acrylic paints. What inspired my artwork is a dream I had as a kid, so it's a personal issue. I feel like with each project, I'm getting better and better at creating my fine lines, and using my paints in a way it looks smooth. This piece will influence my other artworks by showing I can get more deep into my drawings, but still bring them to have meaning.

Artist Statement: My artwork looks like an aquarium. My artwork is made from acrylic paint. For "Anything but a canvas", The bottle represents how using bottles instead of plastic is better for the environment; for the animals. Making this piece, II thought long and hard about how can I make this mean something? How can I make this piece important to not just me but to society? Therefore, my goals as an artist is to find more meaning in my pieces, I feel I have accomplished that. This piece is what I imagined, I'm proud of it.

Watercolor Piece
Some elements most obvious in my artwork is line, shape, value, texture and color. My artwork is made with watercolor. My artwork expresses a personal issue, I really hate germs. I guess this formed because, I don't usually get sick a lot; but when I do it's really bad. So, I've tried my hardest to stay away from people when they're sick. I hate when people cough on me or sneeze, especially little kids, so I made something to represent this. I reached my goal as a artist by creating something personal, rather than making it just because. Overall, I'm proud of this piece.

Beyond The Border
My artwork is a red eyed frog on a tree, with flowers and a leaf from The Amazon. The media my artwork is made from is watercolor. On this artwork I used paintbrushes, and a pen to add my fine lines. I would say my brother inspired me to paint this piece. My piece is personal to me because my brother and I were really close, he absolutely loved red eyed frogs. We aren't close anymore, so it expresses someone I once knew. As an artist, a goal of mine is to have meaning in my pieces, and I think I did that. I accomplished this by doing this artwork for my brother.

My artwork is inspired by Nature vs. Nurture. An element most obvious in my work is lines, and shapes. The media my artwork is made from is acrylic paints. The emotions I tried to represent in my artwork is sadness & anger. My artwork expresses a personal issue.. Because I don't have a mother figure that's supposed to be a mom. In my artwork I used a woman cradling her baby, but surrounding them is shattering, the pain and sadness the child is holding because of their "mother". A goal I was persistent in this year is to define straight lines, and before I was really bad.. But, with time I actually did better with making straight lines on my own.
